Representative Experience

Ansley develops and implements comprehensive estate and business succession plans that achieve the personal, financial and charitable goals of individuals and families within federal income, estate, gift and generation-skipping transfer tax regimes. Ansley’s estate planning experience includes the creation of wealth transfer vehicles such as family limited liability companies, generation-skipping trusts, charitable remainder trusts, sales to defective grantor trusts and irrevocable life insurance trusts. Ansley also drafts wills, minors’ trusts, living wills, powers of attorney and health care powers of attorney.


Specific Matters

  • Transferred multi-million dollar family business to next generation using sale to defective grantor trust
  • Prepared business succession plans entailing transfers of ownership interests to certain shareholders upon death or retirement of other shareholders
  • Formed family limited liability companies designed to consolidate asset ownership, manage real estate investments and minimize estate and gift taxation
  • Transferred life insurance policies to irrevocable trusts to minimize estate taxation of proceeds
  • Implemented split dollar executive compensation arrangement
  • Determined proper designation of beneficiaries of retirement plans and IRAs for extended preservation of retirement assets
  • Transferred appreciated assets to charitable remainder trust for optimal income tax deferral
