RALEIGH, NC – David D. Dahl, managing partner of Manning Fulton & Skinner, P.A., is featured this month in Business Leader Media’s first annual “Movers & Shakers” list.
The winners, profiled in the September issue of Business Leader magazine, include 36 business professionals across NC who have made a significant impact through community involvement.
As an attorney with Manning Fulton, Dahl represents closely-held businesses and their owners in a variety of complex corporate and tax-related matters. But his sense of community stems from simple, profound lessons he learned as a Boy Scout.
Dahl was inspired at a young age by his Scoutmaster, Bob Lentz. “Bob Lentz lived the Scout Oath and Scout Law and was quietly inspiring while doing so,” Dahl told the magazine.
A Scout leader himself, Dahl believes that one’s work ethic, sense of responsibility, independence, moral code, respect for others and commitment to community are substantially formed between the ages of 10 and 20.
Dahl offered the magazine a bit of simple but demanding guidance that he shares with young people: “Aim high, reach higher.”
Dahl has worked with numerous community groups during his 25 years with Manning Fulton, including Lutheran Outdoor Ministries; the A.E. Finley YMCA Advisory Board; Good Shepherd Lutheran Church Council; and the Finance Advisory Board to Wake County Public Schools. He is also past chair of the N.C. Bar Association’s Tax Council and the Magellan Charter School Board.
