North Carolina Super Lawyers is a listing of lawyers who received the highest point totals using a multi-step evaluation process that includes independent research, peer nominations, and peer evaluations by practice area. Only 5 percent of the lawyers in the state are selected to appear on the list.

 

The selection process for the Rising Stars Category* is the same as the Super Lawyers selection process except that 1) a candidate must be either 40 years old or younger or in practice for 10 years or less and 2) candidates for the Rising Star category do not go through a peer evaluation by practice area. No more than 2.5 percent of North Carolina’s lawyers are recognized in this category.
