Douglas J. Short is an associate member of Manning Fulton's real estate practice group. In addition to providing support to other members of the firm, Doug's practice includes assisting a diverse group of clients with a variety of commercial real estate transactions, including the following:
- Representing clients with respect to sales, acquisitions, leasing and financing transactions
- Drafting and negotiating commercial leases for both landlord and tenant clients
- Representing borrowers and lending institutions with respect to commercial loans, loan modifications, workouts, forbearance agreements and foreclosure
- Performing title examination services and certifications and counseling clients with respect to matters related to title

- Represented a retail shopping center owner with respect to its refinance transaction in excess of $4,000,000
- Served as counsel for and handled leasing transactions for two retail shopping centers containing gross leasable areas in excess of 300,000 square feet
- Successfully obtained relief from stay and foreclosed on four properties serving as collateral for two securitized loans in excess of $20,000,000
- Represented a local bank with respect to its foreclosure and reacquisition of development projects in various stages of completion
- Represented and counseled various commercial loan servicers and lending institutions with respect to foreclosure of securitized loans and reacquisition of REO properties such as land, office buildings, retail projects, residential subdivisions and mix-use projects
- Represented a client with respect to its sale and finance of an assisted living project valued in excess of $6,000,000
