Joe is an Associate in the firm’s Corporate practice group. He assists individuals and corporate clients in a variety of corporate matters, including Mergers & Acquisitions, Corporate Finance, and Healthcare.
Joe received his Juris Doctorate from the University of North Carolina School of Law. During law school, Joe served as president of the Student Bar Association, president of the Transactional and Corporate Law Association, and as a staff member of the North Carolina Banking Institute Journal. In addition, Joe provided corporate and transactional counsel to North Carolina nonprofit community development organizations through the Community Development Clinic, served as a Dean’s Fellow, and completed over 100 pro bono hours over three years. Joe represented Carolina Law on the North Carolina Chief Justice’s Commission on Professionalism and was inducted into the school’s James E. and Carolyn B. Davis Society, which recognizes eight graduates each year for extraordinary leadership ability, integrity, dedication, and character.
Prior to law school, Joe received a Master of Public Administration from the University of North Carolina Wilmington and was awarded Graduate of the Year. While at UNCW, Joe worked in the nonprofit sector in Wilmington, assisting nonprofits in strategic planning, board development, and financial management. He also co-founded and continues to serve on the board of directors for a nonprofit that raises money for classroom projects.
