We are thrilled to announce that the North Carolina Pro Bono Resource Center (PBRC) has announced the induction of Manning Fulton’s Michael Harrell into the 2023 North Carolina Attorney Pro Bono Honor Society. This recognition is reserved only to attorneys who provided 50 or more hours of pro bono legal services in 2023 to clients unable to pay without expectation of a fee.
The PBRC, a program of the North Carolina Equal Access to Justice Commission, aims to expand pro bono legal services throughout the state. Established in April 2016, the PBRC launched North Carolina’s first voluntary pro bono reporting system in 2017. This year’s successful collaboration with the North Carolina State Bar resulted in over 8,000 attorneys reporting pro bono service in 2023.
A partner in Manning Fulton’s litigation group, Mike is recognized as one of the state’s leading appellate attorneys, having argued numerous appeals throughout his career. Since his admission to the bar in 1990, Mike has practiced domestic law, appellate law, and civil litigation. His extensive experience includes several published appellate opinions and substantial courtroom success in domestic relations cases, covering divorce, child custody, property division, and adoption. Mike also brings valuable insight to a wide range of other civil litigation issues.
Mike’s dedication to pro bono service reflects Manning Fulton’s commitment to giving back to the community. We are incredibly proud of his dedication to pro bono service and this is a well-deserved recognition by the North Carolina Pro Bono Honor Society.
