Manning, Fulton & Skinner, P.A. partner Ritchie W. Taylor has taken on another leadership role within the North Carolina Bar Association (NCBA). The Raleigh-based attorney was appointed by the incoming president of the NCBA, Jon Heyl, to serve as Chair of the NCBA’s Business Law Section. Mr. Taylor’s two-year term as Chair begins July 1, 2021.
The Business Law Section provides information, practice tools and member activities related to business law practice. The Section also proposes and monitors changes to state business laws and regulations. Specifically, the Section is concerned with the areas of law that relate to the conduct of business, including banking law, securities regulation, business financing, acquisitions, antitrust, contracts, corporations, director liability, mergers, guarantees and other areas; meets regularly with the North Carolina Secretary of State’s office; and helps mold the NCBA’s legislative agenda for presentation to the General Assembly.
