Partner at Newport Board Group,Laura Bingham will facilitate the discussion on January 22nd in Raleigh on Sheryl Sandberg’s book Lean In, a #1 national best seller. Sandberg, COO of Facebook, uses personal anecdotes and research findings to make her case that “our revolution has stalled,” offering advice on how women can achieve their full potential. A TEDTalk in 2010 sparked the debate around Sandberg’s call for women to ‘lean in’ and ‘get rid of’ internal barriers which can work against success. In Lean In she asserts that there is a “leadership ambition gap” among women in the workplace that must be closed for power structures to change. The event is sponsored by the Women’s Franchise Network (WFN) of Raleigh-Durham, a local chapter led by the Women’s Franchise Committee of the International Franchise Association. The WFN program is designed to develop relationships with women franchising professionals and to address issues, share ideas and offer solutions related to franchising. Manning Fulton will be hosting the event. Click here for more information.
