About
Lawrence is a civil litigator who represents businesses and individuals in complex disputes throughout North Carolina. His practice includes real estate and construction litigation, including professional liability matters for real estate professionals and landlord-tenant disputes, business and contract disputes, and appellate matters. He has substantial experience representing clients at virtually every stage of a dispute—from prelitigation counseling and negotiated resolution through mediation, arbitration, trial, and appeal.
Lawrence has represented clients in North Carolina state trial and appellate courts, as well as in federal court. His experience includes representing clients in jury and bench trials, evidentiary hearings, arbitrations, mediations, dispositive motions, injunction proceedings, and appeals. He works closely with clients to understand both the legal and practical considerations driving a dispute and to develop a strategy tailored to their goals, whether that means resolving a matter before litigation begins or seeing a case through trial and appeal.
A North Carolinian through and through, Lawrence grew up in the small town of Taylorsville and has spent his legal career practicing in his home state. Before joining Manning Fulton, he served as a law clerk to the Honorable Phil Berger, Jr. on the Supreme Court of North Carolina, where he gained valuable insight into North Carolina appellate practice and the judicial decision-making process.
After completing his undergraduate studies at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Lawrence earned his law degree from Campbell University School of Law, where he served as a legal research and writing scholar and was a member of the Campbell Law Review and Campbell Law Moot Court team.
Lawrence has called Raleigh home for more than a decade. Outside the office, he enjoys weightlifting, golfing, playing soccer and basketball, and following UNC athletics—particularly Tar Heel basketball, which he watches religiously. He also enjoys spending time with friends and family, including his cat, Pearl.
