Manning Fulton Managing Partner, Judd Welborn, has once again been named a Managing Partner to Watch by North Carolina Lawyers Weekly. This is the second time in three years Judd has been included in this exclusive Power List feature, which spotlights 20 leading managing partners from some of North Carolina’s top law firms.
This recognition underscores Judd’s continued dedication to both Manning Fulton and its clients. Under his leadership, Manning Fulton has (i) negotiated leases for new office space for both firm offices (moving in 2026) that will improve the client experience, ensure greater opportunities for both talent recruitment and retention, increase firm profitability, and right-size the firm’s real estate footprint to meet the new realities of law office usage and management in the post-COVID world, (ii) implemented a robust AI initiative, and (iii) outperformed many of its competitors in revenue growth and profitability.
Building on the firm’s seven decades of community engagement and leadership established by the likes of Howard Manning, Charlie Fulton, and John McMillan, Judd continues to ensure Manning Fulton’s attorneys remain active in the communities in which they work and live. In addition to his many firm management-related roles, Judd remains active in the broader community, where he serves on the North Carolina Bar Association’s Professionalism Committee and Litigation Section Council (where he recently served as the Co-Chair of the Ethics Committee) as well as the Wake County Bar Association/Tenth Judicial District Bench-Bar Committee. His past service includes, among other things, terms on the North Carolina Rules Review Commission and the Carolina Ballet Board of Directors.
