Samuel T. ‘Ted’ Oliver, Jr.

Ted practiced with the firm since graduating from law school in 1979.  His wide range of real estate experience included representing borrowers and lenders, landowners and developers, landlords and tenants in various commercial transactions.

Ted actively participated in various professional groups including the Real Property Section of the North Carolina Bar Association, the Real Estate Specialization Committee of the North Carolina State Bar, and the American College of Real Estate Lawyers, and spoke at numerous continuing legal education seminars through the years.  He also taught the course in Real Estate Finance Law at the University of North Carolina School of Law from 1998 to 2014.

In addition to assisting clients in the acquisition, financing, leasing and sale of virtually all types of properties, including portfolio transactions in excess of $500,000,000.00 and multi-state sale/leaseback transactions involving over 200 properties, Ted advised clients in the real estate brokerage industry regarding the rules, regulations and licensing of real estate professionals in North Carolina.

A North Carolina State Bar certified Specialist in Real Property Law, Business, Commercial and Industrial Transactions since 1987, Ted has been recognized by The Best Lawyers in America in the areas of real estate (1995-2019) and corporate law (2011-2019), Chambers USA (top lawyer in North Carolina in the area of real estate in 2007), Business North Carolina Magazine Legal Elite (being named top NC real estate attorney in 2007), North Carolina Super Lawyers (2006 to 2019), and has been rated AV by Martindale-Hubbell for over thirty years.  Ted further was the recipient of the Professional Commercial Real Estate Service Award presented by TCREW at the 15^th Annual Champion’s Award in 2013.
