Alex is a member of the firm’s Corporate Practice Group. He advises clients on a variety of business law matters, including franchising; corporate governance; mergers and acquisitions; and private equity, venture capital and debt financing. Due to his extensive experience handling a wide range of small- and mid-market corporate transactions and his past work across multiple practice areas, Alex is also well suited to assist entrepreneurs and business executives with most all of their general corporate and transactional legal needs, including forming new entities; restructuring existing entities; raising financing; and managing employee, customer, and vendor/supplier relationships.
Alex graduated magna cum laude from the J. Reuben Clark Law School at Brigham Young University. He started his legal career at Sullivan & Cromwell LLP, a preeminent international law firm, where his practice focused on international capital markets (in Frankfurt, Germany) and global disputes (in New York City). Alex then joined a litigation boutique in Phoenix, Arizona where he practiced complex commercial litigation. Most recently, Alex worked at Bennett Tueller Johnson & Deere in Salt Lake City, Utah, where he advised businesses and individual clients on a wide range of deals and corporate matters.
Prior to law school, Alex earned a master’s degree in education from the University of Pennsylvania and taught secondary English as a Teach for America corps member in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He holds a bachelor’s degree in business strategy from Brigham Young University with a minor in music.
Alex was born and raised in California. His family, including his wife and three children, currently resides in Apex, NC, but has previously lived in California, Utah, Brazil, Germany, New York, New Jersey, and Arizona. Alex is fluent in Portuguese and speaks some German. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his family, traveling, hiking, exploring national parks, baking, and choral singing.
